Motorstorm Rc Ps Vita
When I was a kid, I had this fascination with RC cars. Well, I should say it was the concept of RC cars that I found so fascinating. In practice, my experience with actually driving the things was mostly spent trying to figure out how to not keep running into things and getting stuck against walls. This is an experience that Evolution Studios hopes to re-create, for better or worse, with MotorStorm RC.The idea here is to take several locations from the beloved MotorStorm series and let players race dozens of RC cars across them. The game's main event is Festival, where you will take on numerous challenges across these courses.
For example, Hot Lap has you see how quickly you can take a single lap, Pursuit has you start in last place and attempt to overtake a set amount of opponents as fast as you can, and Drift has you prove to your friends that you have a bit of a rebellious side by using muscle cars to drift around corners. Scoring medals in these challenges will allow you to unlock new vehicles and advance further in the Festival. Of course, if you are too impatient to unlock all of this via gameplay, you can plop down a small chunk of change on PSN to unlock everything at once.

They are not aggressive towards Ecco in any of the games and helps Ecco in search of his pod.
Personally, this feels more like a cheap cash grab than anything else, as being able to insta-unlock the entire game takes away a lot of your motivation to keep working toward higher scores. However, if you have friends that play the game, you will have motivation in another form: anyone on your PSN friends list who plays MotorStorm RC will have their best times listed on each track. This lets you know who is the best MotorStormer among your group of friends. Also, your friends' ghost data will also be present in the races, so you'll have a constant visual indication of how you are doing compared with them. It's a really cool feature that adds a ton of replay value, encouraging you to constantly try to dethrone your friends from the top spot.
Of course, if you get tired of Festival, there are a few other game modes to try in the Wreckreation menu. Time Attack has you select any course and vehicle you've managed to unlock and see how fast you can complete the course. Free Play allows you to set up your own race type, where you get to choose your game mode, course, vehicle, and even your opponents. If all else fails, there's the Playground, which is an almost Tony Hawk-like skate park for you to freely drive your RC cars around. It's a nice diversion, but it definitely won't hold your interest long. I would have liked to see some sort of scoring element here that rewarded players for hitting ramps and doing things like attempting to sink a car in a dumpster or launch one through a basketball hoop. Now, when I first started playing MotorStorm RC, I was a little disappointed that the game lacks the behind-the-wheel camera that would make controlling the cars much less difficult. Of course, that was a little silly of me, since this is an arcade RC racer rather than a racing simulator. In fact, the twin-stick controls mimic those on several actual RC controllers, and the various top-down camera angles are sort of what you would be seeing if you were controlling an actual RC car.
Mar 06, 2012 Motorstorm makes its debut on Playstation Vita and a lot has changed from the earlier console games. Instead of real vehicles you get to drive RC cars in short, fast races. Motorstorm RC fits the portable format perfectly but why is there no multiplayer?! Mar 06, 2012 Get MotorStorm RC Vita for Free. Feb 20, 2012. High-speed radio-controlled car racing hits the MotorStorm circuit in MotorStorm RC! With visually stunning renditions of all four.
While this makes the experience feel much more like a real-life RC experience, it takes a little getting used to.In fact, in my own experience, I found that making some tweaks to the default control scheme made things feels a lot smoother. For example, if you play a lot of shooters, you might want to reverse the control sticks (left stick for acceleration, right stick for steering) to make things feel a bit more natural. Also, I would strongly recommend assigning a dedicated button to your breaks/reverse. (The left shoulder bumper worked for me.) Yes, it makes the controls less true-to-life (as real-life RC cars would generally have you use the same stick for acceleration and reverse), but, trust me, you'll take corners a lot tighter and will win more races this way. Unless you are already an RC enthusiast. There are some touchscreen controls utilized in the Vita version as well.
However, besides navigating the game's menus, you'll be best off completely forgetting they're even there. The visuals are halfway decent. In fact, some of the landscapes and backgrounds are legitimately impressive, especially on a handheld. The cars themselves, though—which should be the main event—don't look as detailed as I feel like they should. This makes them stand out a bit against the highly detailed environments, which I suppose could be both a good and bad thing.
The MotorStorm series was born when the PS3 launched back in late 2006/early 2007. The first game in the series showed us what the (then) newly released PS3 console was capable of. Since then, the series has grown with two more games released on the PS3 and a spin-off for the PS2 and PSP. MotorStorm RC is the newest addition in the franchise but is unlike any other MotorStorm game you have ever played. This is because you are playing as small remote-controlled cars now!Is this radical change in the series’ direction going to deter long-term fans from playing this game? What’s the differences between the PS3 and PS Vita version?Find out as we take a look at the HOTs and NOTs of MotorStorm RC.
HOTOld-School Style Of GameplayIf there’s something missing about racing games these days, it is sheer fun and simplicity. Sure games like Forza 4 and Gran Turismo 5 are fun, but they’re not the type of game you will see your entire family getting involved in. Those games are mostly for car enthusiasts who love to collect a large garage of expensive cars. MotorStorm RC is as simple as it gets as you are only racing as small remote-controlled cars.
If you are old enough to remember the Micro-Machines and Circuit Breakers games on the PSOne, MotorStorm RC offers a similar style of simplistic gaming fun that just about anyone of any age will enjoy.Offline Multiplayer MadnessKeeping with the theme of making things “old-school”, MotorStorm RC offers 4 player split-screen racing action. 4 player split-screen games were abundant in the PSOne era as this was before the time video game consoles were able to be connected to the internet. Now that most people have their PS3’s and Xbox 360’s connected online, a number of games have sadly ditched split-screen gameplay altogether. Some recent examples of this have been Skate 3 and Battlefield 3 among many others. It’s great to see that Evolution Studios has included the 4 player split-screen gameplay in MotorStorm RC as there’s nothing quite like playing a game next to your friends and/or family members. Bear in mind, this is obviously only available on the PS3 version of MotorStorm RC.Multiple Game ModesThere is more to MotorStorm RC than just racing against one another to be the top three on the podium. Although you can still do that in the standard “Race” mode.
During the main single player mode called “Festival”, you will encounter three other game mode that keeps the gameplay fresh and exciting. One of the modes is a time attack called “Hot Lap”. This is where you need to get the fastest lap on any track. The game is helpful enough to show you the preferred racing line to beat the A.I’s top times too. Another mode is called “Pursuit” where you have to overtake all your opponents within a set time.
Lastly you have “Drift” where you earn points for doing fun things like powerslides etc. All in all, these modes are fun to play and separates this MotorStorm RC from being just another racing gameLoads of Tracks and Vehicles To UnlockThe best thing about MotorStorm RC is that is pays homage to the all of the four previous games in the series. There are four areas in the which include the first MotorStorm game, Pacific Rift, Arctic Edge and Apocalypse.
Each area houses 12 tracks for a total of 48 unique and different tracks in MotorStorm RC. The design of each track looks awesome especially the tracks from Pacific Rift and Arctic Edge. The miniature sized beach/jungle and ice tracks look pretty cool. The racing tracks isn’t the only thing you can unlock. There is a total of 96 vehicles in the entire game. There are a number of cars, monster trucks and dune buggy’s you can collect. Although you cannot customise the appearance of the vehicles in the game, you can change the color of the paint job which is nice to see.PS Vita And PS3 Versions For The Same Low PriceFor the low price of $9.99, you can get MotorStorm on the PS3 and PS Vita. If you own a PS Vita, you don’t have to pay extra for the PS3 version or vice versa.
Both versions are included once you purchase the game which is nice. There’s not many differences between the two version in terms of content. Shadow of rome pc. The only obvious advantages is that the PS3 version has split-screen multiplayer and you can play it in stereoscopic 3D. Although the PS Vita version is great to have if you’re travelling or wanting to kill some time.NotNo Online MultiplayerIt’s great to see that MotorStorm RC includes offline split-screen multiplayer but there’s no online multiplayer! It will be cool if developers these days included both forms of multiplayer and not just sacrifice one for the other. The only online aspects this game includes are online leaderboards.Graphics Could Have BetterAs simplistic as the gameplay is, the graphics are simple as well.
They don’t look bad, although they’re not the type of graphics that are likely to stand up against other games on both the PS3 and PS Vita. I was playing Everybody’s Golf and WipeOut 2048 on the PS Vita and those two games look noticeably better than MotorStorm RC in comparison. Even the PS3 version of the game looks outdated. VerdictDespite MotorStorm RC having simple graphics and no online multiplayer, the other features of the game are sure to please. There are a number of game modes and tracks on offer that will keep you occupied for several hours.
Not to mention that the game is only $9.99 and this includes both the PS3 and PS Vita versions. It’s hard to tell if long-term MotorStorm fans will like this spin-off title although it’s still a fun racing game nonetheless.top / Editor’s Note: MotorStorm RC was reviewed on the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita platforms.
